DR-5: Low Viscosity Two Phase Epoxy Resin

Product Description

DR-5 is a low viscosity two phase resin system that is designed for applications that require ease of wetting.  This system is optimized for stiffness, toughness and adhesion.  DR-5 resin system works well on all fiberglass, carbon, and Kevlar reinforcements.

Processing

Mix resin and hardener thoroughly at specified ratio.  Resin can be heated slightly to lower viscosity.  Do not expose resin or hardener to excessive moisture conditions until fully cured.  Post-cure resin to 160oF to achieve maximum cure and composite strength.  In cases of free standing post-cures, the part should be heated slowly (20-30oF per 30 minute steps) to prevent warpage.

Applications

High Performance Sailing and Offshore Boats

Sailing Masts

Drive Shafts

Any application requiring an exceptional balance of compression and toughness

Filament winding and RTM applications requiring lower viscosities.
